We wanted to let you know the fruit season is developing nicely and look forward to seeing you in the orchard this summer. Here is a brief rundown on the crops for the 2018 season.
Peaches
The peaches are beautiful and we expect the early “Star” varieties to be available in mid July. The Frost, Veteran and Golden Jubilee varieties will be available in early August followed by the Red Haven and Elberta varieties later in August and September. The peach crops are relatively small this year as the orchard is still recovering from the devastating seasons of 2016 and 2017.
Apples
The apple crop is very large this year. Our signature variety, the Honeycrisps, look amazing. They will be plentiful this year and should be available in mid to late August. As the season progresses into September and October there will also be plenty of all of our other varieties as well-Fuji, Gravenstein, Gala, Jonagold, Braeburn, Granny Smith, Winesap and Pink Lady.
Pears
All of the pear varieties look very good this year. There will be a good harvest of Bartlett, Moonglow, Bosc and Comice pears in August and September.
